The Broken Table Project (“TBTP,” “we,” “our,” or “the Project”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information may be processed when you visit or interact with our website, applications, infrastructure, or official online services (collectively, the “Services”).

1. Information Processed Automatically

When you access the Services, certain technical information may be processed automatically by us, our hosting providers, Cloudflare, and other infrastructure providers.

Depending on the service and request, this information may include:

• IP address.
• Date and time of access.
• Requested domain, page, path, or resource.
• HTTP request and response information.
• Browser type and User-Agent.
• Device, operating-system, and protocol information.
• Referring page, where provided.
• Approximate country or region derived from an IP address.
• Network provider, Autonomous System Number, or related network information.
• Security, firewall, bot-detection, rate-limiting, and performance events.
• Cookies or similar technical identifiers that are necessary for security or service operation.

We may not have direct access to every category of information processed by our service providers.

2. Purposes of Processing

Technical information may be processed where reasonably necessary to:

• Deliver and operate the Services.
• Protect the Services and users from attacks, abuse, fraud, spam, malware, and unauthorized access.
• Detect and investigate security incidents.
• Enforce rate limits and access controls.
• Diagnose errors and maintain reliability.
• Measure aggregate traffic and performance.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations and valid legal requests.
• Protect the rights, safety, and property of users, TBTP, and others.

We do not use Cloudflare Web Analytics to create behavioral advertising profiles, and we do not sell personal information.

3. Cloudflare

We use Cloudflare services for content delivery, networking, analytics, availability, performance, firewall protection, bot detection, abuse prevention, and distributed-denial-of-service protection.

When you access the Services, your request may pass through Cloudflare’s global network. Cloudflare may process technical information such as IP addresses, request metadata, browser or User-Agent information, security events, network information, approximate location, and necessary cookies.

Cloudflare processes information under its own legal terms, privacy documentation, data-processing terms, technical configurations, and retention practices, as applicable to the relevant service. Cloudflare’s current Privacy Policy is available at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.

Cloudflare’s processing of information is governed by Cloudflare’s applicable policies and agreements. However, this reference does not replace this Privacy Policy or eliminate any responsibility that applicable law places directly on TBTP.

4. Legal Bases

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, information may be processed:

• As necessary to provide a service requested by you.
• For our legitimate interests in securing, maintaining, and improving the Services.
• To comply with legal obligations.
• With consent, where consent is specifically required.

Our legitimate interests do not override rights that cannot lawfully be waived or restricted.

5. Disclosure of Information

Information may be disclosed only where reasonably necessary to:

• Infrastructure, hosting, security, analytics, communication, or service providers.
• Project maintainers who require access for legitimate operational or security purposes.
• Courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies, or other authorities when required by applicable law or valid legal process.
• Protect users, the public, the Project, or another person from serious harm, abuse, fraud, or security threats.
• Investigate or enforce violations of our policies.

We do not sell personal information.

6. International Processing

TBTP is operated from the Republic of Korea and may use service providers operating in other countries. Information may therefore be processed or transferred outside the country in which you live, including through Cloudflare’s global network.

Such locations may have privacy laws that differ from those of your jurisdiction. Service providers may use contractual, organizational, and technical safeguards where required by applicable law.

7. Retention

We retain information under our control only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.

Some information is controlled or retained directly by Cloudflare or another infrastructure provider. Its availability, aggregation, deletion, and retention period may be determined by that provider’s service configuration and applicable policies. TBTP may be unable to access, identify, modify, or delete individual records held exclusively by such a provider.

We will not claim that information has been deleted where we cannot reasonably verify that deletion.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights relating to personal information, including rights to:

• Request access.
• Request correction.
• Request deletion.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Submit a complaint to a competent privacy authority.

These rights may be limited where information cannot reasonably be linked to you, where retention is required by law, or where processing is necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal claims, or the rights of others.

We may request reasonable information to verify your identity and locate relevant records. Do not send identity documents unless we specifically and lawfully request them.

9. Children

The Services are not intended to knowingly collect personal information directly from children beyond technical information automatically processed when a website is accessed.

Do not submit another child’s personal information through the Services. If you believe that a child has provided personal information that should not have been collected, contact us.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature and scale of the Project. However, no website, network, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

This statement does not waive or limit any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

The Services may link to or interact with third-party websites and platforms. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. TBTP is not responsible for third-party services that it does not control, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our Services, providers, or legal obligations change. The updated version will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date.

Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before materially changing how personal information is processed.
