About TBTP

Why we
exist.

We believe meaningful change starts with small actions—and that security should belong to everyone.

Who we are

The Broken Table Project is a student-led open-source community dedicated to making the digital world safer through collaboration, learning, and practical projects.

Why TBTP exists

Everyone deserves
a safer digital world.

Security should not be limited by age, experience, education, or background. Everyone should have the opportunity to learn, contribute, and benefit from a safer internet.

The problem

Cybersecurity can feel difficult to enter. Knowledge, tools, and opportunities are not always approachable or openly shared. We want to help lower that barrier.

Our mission

Build open-source security tools. Share practical knowledge. Help people learn by building. Create an open community where students can contribute to meaningful security projects.

Our vision

To grow into a global student-led community that develops practical security projects, shares knowledge openly, and lowers the barrier to learning cybersecurity.

Core values

How we work matters.

Open source

Knowledge grows when it is shared.

Learning by building

Real projects create real experience.

Accessibility

Security should be understandable and approachable.

Privacy

Respect people’s privacy and data.

Collaboration

Great projects are built together.

Curiosity

Keep asking questions. Keep learning.

Closing statement

Security for
everyone.

Let’s fix the broken table.
